RO LONDON’S Sacred Fish Collections
Wildlife Fantasea Fashion Show
Wildlife Fantasea Fashion Show on Paws & Claws Award night

Ro London is our local wildlife fashion designer who has established an International designer label with her Sacred Fish Collections to promote endangered species and to help save them from extinction. Ro’s journey has taken seven years to develop and confirm a contract with an overseas multi-million-dollar printing company, Nova Fabrics, who sell the designs throughout Europe and America. When Ro took a Fijian holiday and discovered the sad plight of our endangered Green Turtle, she was inspired to create a wildlife designer label that emphasized how we risk losing our precious wildlife.

The Sacred Fish Collections are designed to attract attention with vibrant, stunning patterns and colors that reflect the exotic flavors of far horizons and natural wildlife. Paintings by leading local and International wildlife artists are commissioned and once the design is completed, are printed on high-quality silks and fine materials to create this unique collection. Ro travels extensively for research and has an overwhelming appetite for the glory of the exotica combined with a love of figurative art and a fascination for animals, birds, flowers and marine life, which is reflected in her designs.

Paws & Claws approached Ro to showcase her wildlife wearable art for the coming 2007 Paws and Claws Awards for Charity. The wildlife Fantasea fashion showing will illustrate the fantasy of the sea, celebrating the coastal lifestyle and our marine environment. The endangered species featured on the night will include exquisite designs of the Green Turtle, Hawksbill Turtle, Bell Frog, Sea Dragon, Dolphin, Blue Whale, Manatee, Dugong, Sea Otter, Monk Seal, Harp Seal, Banded Fijian Iguana, Crocodile and the Coral Reef. The endangered species selected for the designs have their own theme music which will accompany them on the catwalk!

For animal enthusiasts and people who seek treasures it’s fashion that dreams of tropical holidays and Hawaiian vacations, those who live that lifestyle year-round, but also to those who vacation at the shore and take home fond memories of good times. They emphasize color and a fun spirit, with an alluring theme to which people all over the world can easily relate.

As the detailed illustrated designs are originally printed as large foulards (scarves), the garments are individually cut and the bold & bright off-cuts are made into bandannas. When attending Animal Welfare gatherings at the Spit, Ro and her Keeshond pal Kodiak wear matching wildlife designer bandanna’s and always create interest. Ro suggests it would be an exciting explosion of color to produce complementary bandannas for the pets of all the animal lovers who are attending the 2007 Paws & Claws Award evening and for auction will be a giant silk outline quilted pillow featuring the Coral Reef design for the fish fanciers.

Ro London, a conservationist, created Sacred Fish Collections because of her deep concern for the preservation of our rare and threatened animals and gives freely of herself to help causes that seek to protect our environment, regularly donating her highly sought after designs for many charity events.
