The
scarcest resource is not oil, metals, clean air, capital, labour,
or technology. It is our willingness to listen to each other and
learn from each other and to seek the truth rather than seek to
be right.

Gerard O'Donoghue performs a Roy Orbison tribute
called "The
Big O Experience" |
 |
Born in Melbourne and now living in Brisbane, this
naturally gifted young man possesses an ability to sing that most
of us can only dream of. It is hardly surprising that he can reproduce
the operatic quality and 3 octave range of the legendary Roy Orbison.
In
his show titled 'The Big O Experience', Gerard's portrayal of the
man in black will have you believe that you are in the room with
Roy Orbison. You will hear the classic songs of 'Crying', 'In
Dreams' and 'Oh, Pretty Woman' as well as modern classics like 'You
Got It'.
Gerard has performed to thousands of audiences around Australia in
some of the finest hotels and clubs available.
He has been interviewed
on radio and featured on several television shows including Briz
31's "Getting Together",
Channel 9's "Extra" and in April 2005 performed live when
competing for a trip to Las Vegas in the talent show "StarStruck" where
he was placed runner up. His vocal talent has earnt
him both respect and admiration from television, radio and music
industry greats including: Larry Emdur, Rick
Burnett, Doug Mulray, John Laws, Vanessa Amorosi and even Sir. Cliff
Richard.

Award Presentation by acclaimed author and animal
activist, Lynn Santer, and enigmatic Australian Adventurer & Conservationist,
Alby Mangels. |
|
International best-selling author and animal activist Lynn
Santer launched the first book in “The Magical Scarecrow” series
at Dreamworld’s Australian Wildlife Experience infront of young
kids from the The Leukaemia Foundation and Paradise Kids.
With ringing endorsements
from international celebrities and charities alike, “The Magical
Scarecrows” looks set to take the
world by storm. What began as a philanthropic venture to produce
two books for free distribution to worthy causes has started to explode
into a phenomenon the creator could never have imagined. When Hollywood
legend, Tippi Hedren became so
enchanted with these stories that she insisted she be the first celebrity
to read a “Magical Scarecrow” story online for charity,
the mystical web of this magic took hold. With Tippi promoting the
project in her exclusive Hollywood boutique at Shambala you just
never know who the next celebrity will be to fall under this mushrooming
spell.
